Greyhound Pub Walk

Our November walk found us in the pretty, historic village of Saughall. Our meeting point was The Greyhound pub which is on the main road through the village. The weather gods were kind to us; it was a beautiful, crisp, autumnal morning. We skirted the impressive Shotwick Park and headed out down the lanes and fields surrounding the village. The walk was mostly flat, with a few stiles and, as you'd expect after our recent weather, a fair amount of mud... It was worth it, however, for the clear blue skies, the gorgeous autumn colour and the impressive views across to the Welsh hills. The only downside to a really enjoyable walk came when we were forced to pick our way through a pile of joinery waste which had been dumped across the footpath adjacent to the A494. Grrrr! We rounded off our walk with a delicious and reasonably priced lunch at The Greyhound.
