Our programme is not fixed. We respond to exhibitions as they occur during the year, covering the arts, culture, history, etc.  New members are always welcome.

Tuesday 29th September - Exhibition on Screen :- James McNeill Whistler

A film of the American artist’s work based on the current landmark Exhibition at Tate Britain, being shown at the Picture House Cinema in Chester commencing at 2pm (duration- approx 90 minutes).Tickets for those over 60 are £16.85 available on line (picturehouse.com) or at the Chester box office.

We plan to meet after the performance in the Picture House cafe for a chat.

Thursday 8th October - The Worst Record Covers in the World

A free Exhibition at the Grosvenor Museum, Chester of record sleeves that have made people, giggle, guffaw and double up laughing whereever it has been shown.

We plan to meet beforehand at the Jaunty Goat, Bridge Street for a coffee at 10.30am.

Tuesday 27th October - St Brigid’s Arms

A free Exhibition at the Victoria Gallery and Museum of Liverpool University telling the untold stories of women of Irish heritage in the North of England. Further details are available for you on the website of the Museum (vgm.liverpool.ac.uk).

We plan to meet at the Museum’s Waterhouse cafe at 11.30am for coffee / snack before viewing the Exhibition.

The Museum is located in Ashton Street/Brownlow Hill L69 3DR, a short bus ride on Route 79 from Central Station. Alternatively, there are a number of car parks nearby.
