We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month usually in the afternoon, but sometimes in the morning.
June Visit to Cholmondely Castle Gardens.
Heat, health and holidays took their toll in that it was a smaller group than usual who enjoyed an excellent visit to Cholmondeley Castle Gardens last Thursday. The gardens include parkland, lakes and formal planting and a beautiful rose garden and very colourful borders. It was a real pleasure to walk round, despite the heat. Definitely one to include in the list for next year.
Our next visit will be on Tuesday 18th August to Abbeywood Gardens, a favourite of the group, with a good restaurant and varied gardens – tropical, herbaceous, grasses, woodland and fruit and vegetables.
Post code CW8 2HS, in Delamere it is sign-posted off the main A556 Northwich Road.
I suggest we meet at 1pm for the garden stroll with the option of lunch prior and/or tea/coffee and cake afterwards.
Please note that the garden isn’t listed in the Gardeners’ World magazine 2 for 1 Gardens guide 2026, but they will honour our cards for the offer. Full price entry £7.50. RHS members have free entry as it is an RHS partner garden.

A garden Season Pass: £12 and allows unlimited Garden entry throughout the year during normal opening hours including 10% off plant purchases.

The nursery is a specialist grower of Hardy Perennials and Shrubs. It has a wealth of bedding and patio plants.
The gardens are set around a tranquil lake with woodland walks and Monet style bridges. This garden feels magical once you step through the gated archway, opening into a haven of nature and wildlife. A peaceful escape awaits in these beautiful gardens. There is a Tea Room
serving refreshments and home baked cakes/snacks with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
